Alexandra Patrikiou

Position: Assistant Professor, Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work, University of Patras
With a passion for education and history, Alexandra Patrikiou brings years of expertise to her work. From 2017 to 2023, she served as a senior researcher at the Jewish Museum of Greece, where she played a pivotal role in developing and delivering Holocaust education programs for primary and secondary schools. Alexandra’s academic contributions include publications in edited volumes and renowned journals, alongside active participation in conferences both in Greece and abroad. Her academic research delves into the social history of 20th-century Greece, exploring its rich and complex narratives. Beyond her academic endeavours, Alexandra coordinates the Museum of Education at the University of Patras, aspiring to highlight it as a space for learning, reflection, and social awareness.

Effrosyni (Fryni) Kostara

Position: PhD Researcher and Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work of the University of Patras
Fryni Kostara is a philologist with a long and active presence in the fields of education and culture, possessing extensive teaching experience in Secondary and Higher Education. She has served as School Director, Coordinator of Philologists’ Educational Work at the Regional Center for Educational Planning of West Greece, and Head of Cultural Affairs at the Secondary Education Directorate of Achaia. During this tenure, she organized and coordinated 24 school culture networks and participated in the organization of many educational activities, national student competitions and festivals involving hundreds of teachers and students, in collaboration with institutions such as the University of Patras, the Achaia Ephorate of Antiquities, the Municipality of Patras (Ιnternational Festival of Patras), Patras Municipal Regional Theatre, local museums, etc. She participates in European and research programs, national and international conferences, and has publications in scientific journals, alongside extensive experience in teacher training programs. As Head of Educational Activities at the Museum of Education, she envisions its dynamic connection with the educational community and the society, and its emergence through educational activities and experiential programs -with an emphasis on creative writing/storytelling- into a vibrant and sustainable space of learning, creativity and innovation.

Anna Liakopoulou

Position: Seconded Teacher at the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work, University of Patras
Anna Liakopoulou has been serving public education with dedication for more than twenty-five years. A graduate of the Department of Primary Education at the University of Patras (1998) and holder of a two-year postgraduate diploma in Educational Sciences from the “Evangelos Papanoutsos” Teachers’ Training School (2006), she began her professional career in private education and, following success in the national ASEP examination in 2001, entered the public school system. She has taught in various schools in Attica and Achaia, undertaking responsibilities as an in-school coordinator and mentor for new colleagues. With a strong interest in culture and innovation in learning, she has implemented various projects under the auspices of the Directorate of Primary Education of Achaia. She has also participated in numerous conferences and training seminars on subjects including language teaching, the role of school leadership in modern education, life skills through workshops, and distance education. Since 2023, she has been seconded to the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work at the University of Patras, actively contributing to student teaching practice and the organization of the Museum of Education. She envisions a vibrant learning space where children and adults alike discover the power of memory, educational tradition, and creative expression. For her, education is not merely a profession but a mission — and the Museum a contemporary space for transmitting values.

Anna Fterniati

Position: Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work, University of Patras
Anna Fterniati is a distinguished academic in the field of Language Didactics, specializing in Literacy Pedagogy, the teaching and assessment of written expression, and Multiliteracies. Her work includes extensive research activity and significant publications, focusing on the design, development, and evaluation of educational programs and materials, as well as on teacher training. With participation in the scientific teams of fifteen European and other research projects, and an active role in the committees of the Pedagogical Institute for drafting and monitoring the Curriculum and educational materials for the Modern Greek Language in Primary Education, her contribution to the educational community is substantial. As the director of the Museum of Education at the University of Patras, Anna Fterniati aspires to shape a vibrant and innovative space where academic research meets educational practice. She envisions the Museum as a hub of knowledge and creativity, fostering learning, critical thinking, and social engagement.
